How to Apply for Chinese Government Scholarships?

    Many international students are looking forward to coming to China to study. In order to promote cooperation and exchanges between China and other countries in politics, economy, culture, education and trade, the Chinese government has established a series of scholarship programs to support international students in Chinese universities. Bringing cheaper and more convenient learning to international students.. So how do you apply for a Chinese government scholarship?

     

    Chinese government scholarships: (CGS)

    CSC Scholarships are awarded by Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC)to international students in Chinese universities affiliated with CSC. CSC Scholarships online application system or admission process is started from December to April every year (generally). But the Last date to apply in different university is different for China Scholarships. CSC Scholarships online application is very important for scholarships applicant.

    Steps to apply for

     

    Step 1:  Find a good university with a major in your field and a relationship with CGS.

     

    Step 2:  Contact the university professor and hope he can accept you as his student. The acceptance of the professor will increase your chances of receiving a scholarship. When he agrees to accept you, then send him a supervisor request letter acceptance letter format.

     

    Step 3:  Complete the CSC online application form by logging onto the China Government Scholarship website.

     

    Step 4:  Complete the foreign physical examination record and attach the report required for this medical form.

     

    Step 5:  Print and complete the document.

     

    Step 6:  Stay in touch with the app receiving organization at the end of July to get the final result.

    Documents for Chinese Government Scholarships:

     

    1. One original and one copy of the Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form.

     

    2. Notarized highest education certificate.

     

    3. Notarized high school exam transcripts.

     

    4. Study and research plan (undergraduate students are not less than 200 words, advanced students are not less than 400 words, graduate students are not less than 500 words).

     

    5. Applicants for master's and doctoral degrees and applicants for advanced studies in China must submit letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors.

     

    6. A copy of the Foreign Physical Examination Record (printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department).

     

    Applicants must conduct inspections in strict accordance with the items required in the Foreign Physical Examination Record. The "Foreign Physical Examination Record" that is missing, has not been attached to my photo or has not been stamped on the photo is invalid. In view of the validity of the examination results for 6 months, the applicant is requested to determine the time for the medical examination.

     

    CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

     

    1. Bilateral Program:

     

    This includes full or partial scholarships in accordance with the educational exchange agreements or consensus between the Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities or international organizations. It supports undergraduate students, graduate students, general scholars and senior scholars.

     

    2. Chinese University Program:

     

    This is a full scholarship for designated Chinese universities and certain provincial education offices in specific provinces or autonomous regions to recruit outstanding international students for graduate studies in China. It only supports undergraduates, postgraduate students and doctoral students.

     

    3. Great Wall Program:

     

    This is a full scholarship for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to sponsor students and scholars in developing countries to study and research in China. It only supports general scholars and senior scholars.

     

    4. EU Program:

     

    This is a full scholarship to encourage students from EU member countries to study and research in China in order to promote mutual understanding between China and EU members. It supports undergraduate students, graduate students, general scholars and senior scholars.

     

    5. AUN Program:

     

    This is a full scholarship for the ASEAN University Network (AUN) to sponsor students, teachers and scholars from ASEAN member nations to study in China and to enhance the academic exchange and mutual understanding between China and ASEAN members. It only supports graduates.

     

    6. PIF Program:

     

    This is a full scholarship to sponsor students from Pacific island countries to study in China. It supports undergraduates, graduates, general scholars and senior scholars.

     

    7. WMO Program:

     

    This is a scholarship for the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to sponsor international students to study and conduct research in meteorology, hydrology, and water resources supervision and management in China. It only supports undergraduates and graduates.

     

    Eligibility

     

    1. Must be a non-Chinese citizen and be in good health;

     

    2. Applicant's academic qualifications and age requirements:

     

    a. Those who are studying in China must have a high school diploma with excellent grades and are under the age of 25;

     

    b. Those who are studying for a master's degree in China must have a bachelor's degree and be under 35 years of age;

     

    c. Those who are studying for a doctoral degree in China must have a master's degree and be under the age of 40;

     

    d. As a Chinese language learner, you must have a high school graduate or above and be under 35 years of age;

     

    e. As a general scholar, students who come to China must have a second year or higher degree and no more than 45 years of age;

     

    f. As a senior advanced student, the student must have the equivalent of a master's degree or above, or an associate professor or above, and the age is not more than 50 years old;
